Title: Intern, Cost Recovery
Report to: Manager, Cost Recovery
Department: Finance
Location: European Headquarters – Vianen, The Netherlands

Job Summary
The responsibilities of the Intern, Cost Recovery will be mainly project based within the Finance area, working closely together with both internal and external parties. The Intern will be expected to identify and implement internal cost recovery opportunities by reviewing financial systems. Responsibilities will also include identifying overpayments, document recovery opportunities and collecting monies due to Foot Locker Europe.

Tasks & Responsibilites:
• Audit lease agreements, contracts, invoices and Foot Locker financial systems to identify historical cost recovery and ongoing expense reduction opportunities.
• Produce written claims for monies owed by 3rd parties and collect funds.
• Create financial entries to recognize claims and recoveries.
• Accurately record and track claims and recoveries.
• Negotiate and settle all claims as needed.
• Identify and assist in the implementation of process improvements for any assigned area.
• Assist in production of internal reporting of recoveries and savings.
• Participate in meetings to present and discuss recovery opportunities, results of recovery activities.
• Work directly with vendors, landlords and other Foot Locker departments to achieve department goals.
• Must be punctual and meet attendance requirements.
• Must be able to accept direction.
• Must be able to work well with fellow associates and be an integral part of the team.


Profile
• Currently studying Finance or Accounting at MBO or HBO level, minimum of 3rd year level required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel is desired. Basic PC skills are required.
• Strong negotiation skills desired.
• Ability to read, analyse and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Must be able to respond to common inquiries from regulatory agencies and/or members of the business community.
• Ability to produce clear and effective analyses and communication in relation to assigned projects.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Fluency in one or more of the following languages is desirable: French, Italian or Spanish.
• Pro-active, well organized and accurate.
